He was the man that time could not touch; could not hold; could not break. He moved freely through it without the moments etched to his face. A Doctor had once told him that he was A fixed point in time and space. How long he had lived, no one could be sure. But where ever he went, no matter the time, death and destruction seemed to ripple out from his wake. His name was intertwined with moments of history that laid in mystery, so much like the man himself and each moment led to another moment of destruction.
To say the man had never loved would be a lie for who could live a thousand life times and not once feel loves warm hand upon their heart, no matter how long it had beat? But how many times did he truly love? Men, women, species beyond our own, who is to say he never once loved one greater than any other? But once, he had loved deeply. But as everything else he touched, it withered away and died. The lover did not die of old age as he had feared he would see, but suddenly in the name to save a world that barely knew his name. Ianto Jones. The moment Ianto had died, despite all his immortality and all the pain he had suffered in the eons past, the undying man felt his heart stop beating. With a great heaving ache, he wished never to return again, not to a world without his love; his best friend; his Ianto.
His name had changed dozens of times in the millennia he had walked the Earth and planets besides; in the time he stayed by the Doctor, one name came to him. A name he had taken from an officer of WWI. Though time has not marked him, his face remaining that of a young thirty year old man, his eyes never watering over the decades and centuries besides, all around him melted away with time. People changed while technology grew and expanded. But always he remained the same. To this day, it is by the name Captain Jack Harkness that the undying man answers to.
